ADVETIVEDC Timetable

Support & FAQ

Getting started, and answers to the questions that come up most.

Getting started

How do I set up my timetable?
  1. Open the extension and go to Import.
  2. Drop in the school’s staff timetable PDF (the full one, with every teacher).
  3. When it finishes reading, search for your own name and confirm it is you.
  4. Check the summary and press Save. That’s it.

The PDF is read entirely inside your browser. It is never uploaded anywhere.

Do I need an account, API key or internet connection?

No to all three. Everything runs on your own device, including reading the PDF. The extension makes no network requests at all.

The school issued a new timetable. What do I do?

Go to Settings → Re-import from PDF (or the Import tab) and load the new file. Pick your name again and save — this replaces your timetable and refreshes the staff directory.

Common questions

A lesson is wrong or missing

Open the Timetable tab and click the cell. You can change the subject, class code, room and which periods it covers, or delete it. Click an empty cell to add a lesson by hand. Your edits are kept when the app reopens.

My name is not in the list

The list is built from the PDF itself, so a name only appears if that PDF contains a timetable page for it. Check you loaded the complete staff PDF rather than a single page or an extract. If your page exists but has no lessons, the extension will still let you pick it and add classes manually.

Where do the lesson times come from?

From the standard VEDC bell schedule that is built in — eight periods Monday to Thursday with two 15 minute breaks, and four shorter periods on Friday. The PDF supplies the subjects, class codes and rooms; the times are matched to the period.

Can I see another teacher’s timetable, or a class timetable?

Yes. Find teacher searches everyone in the PDF and shows where they are right now. Class timetable reconstructs each group’s week from the same data, so no second import is needed.

Does my timetable follow me to another computer?

If you are signed in to Chrome, Chrome Sync may replicate it across your own devices through your own Google account. It is never sent to us or to anyone else. See the privacy policy.

The extension icon or a change did not update

Chrome caches extensions between versions. Open chrome://extensions and press Reload on VEDC Timetable, then reopen it.
